October 12, 2007 - Upcoming Meet
Oktoberfest to be held on October 13-14, 2007 at GCIT.

The Note From the meet director
We have a very full meet this year which will require some changes in the meet format, namely for the start times in the 500 free and afternoon sessions on Saturday. Please see the Notes for more information.

We are going to need each team to provide one timer per session for the meet this weekend. Please have your timer report to the pool deck 30 minutes before the session is set to begin. They will be given a name tag representing your team and will be refunded any admission costs they have paid and given a free meet program. They will also have access to the hospitality room.

There are some teams coming to the meet that are very small, therefore we are looking for this help from teams that will have 10 or more swimmers in the session. Some teams, if possible, could provide more than one timer and we will accomodate everything we can get.

Sorry for the late request but when you run a swim meet a month into the season there are a lot of bugs that need to be ironed out. This meet is larger than it ever has been before: over 990 swimmers and over 5500 splashes. If we are going to stay on the timeline (and it is going to be very tight on Saturday because of the large number of 500 swimmers) we will need to get started on time. Having the extra timers in place 30 minutes before the session starts will help this happen.

Please let Coach lucy know if you could be a timer.
