X-Cel Swimming Announces Top-8 Finishes

at the NJ Swimming 2010 LC Junior Olympics

 

Princeton, NJ – X-Cel Swimming placed sixth out of 41 teams with a total of 1092.5 points at the NJ Swimming 2010 LC Junior Olympics held July 29 to Aug. 1 at Rutgers. Thirteen team records were broken at the meet and two swimmers ranked as “high point” scorers.  Top eight results follow.

 

In the 10 and under age group, Melinda Tang (10) won the highest point award. Tang won first place in five events: 100 Free (1:09.04), 200 Free (2:29.08), 400 free (5:12.77), 100 fly (1:17.02), 200 IM (2:50.51). She also placed second in the 50 free (32.32), 100 back (1:20.72), and third in the 50 back (38.17). Jackie Ngu (10)

placed fifth in the 200 Free (2:37.85), placed sixth in the 100 back (1:24.30), seventh in the 100 Fly (1:27.01). Michael Zhong (10) placed fifth in the 100 fly (1:25.92).

 

In the 10 boy’s relays, X-Cel’s 200 free relay team of Michael Zhong, Dylan Torrance, Kevin Liu and Eric Li and placed seventh with a time of (2:25.02). 

 

In the 11-12 age group, Samantha Chan placed fifth in the 100 breast (1:23.82), sixth in the 200 breast (2:59.63), seventh in the 200 IM (2:42.43). Madeleine Deardorff placed fifth in the 200 fly (2:49.47). Emily Hung placed both in fourth 50 (34.39) and 100 back (1:13.74), fifth in the 400 IM (5:41.15), seventh in both 100 free (1:06.08) and 200 back (2:42.02). Raymond Lu placed fifth in the 50 fly (32.15) and sixth in the 50 free (29.64).

 

In the 11-12 girl’s relays team:  Emily Hung, Samantha Chan, Kara Lydzinski and Madeleine Deardorff placed second in the 200 free (2:04.68) and sixth in the 200 medley (2:21.68).

 

In the 13 to 14 age group, Alexandra Brown (14) place fifth in the 200 breast (2:55.07). Cynthia Wu (13) placed fourth in both 100 (1:20.96) and 200 breast (2:53.26), and placed fifth in the 100 Free (1:03.02). Patrick Park (14) was the high point scorer in the meet for the 13-14 boys.  Park won and set seven new team records in the 50 free (26.10), 100 free (56.11), 100 breast (1:10.91), 200 breast (2:36.22), 100 fly (59.00), and 200 IM (2:18.58). Park also placed second in 200 fly (2:12 19). Colburn Yu (14) placed fourth in the 100 breast (1:13.09).

 

In the 13-14 girl’s relays, X-Cel’s 400 free relay team of Cindy Shi, Carla Tuan, Alexandra Brown and Cynthia Wu and placed seventh with a time of 4:26.00.

 

In the 13-14 boy’s relays, X-Cel’s 400 free relay team of Ethan Vaca, Jeffrey Chan, Colburn Yu, and Patrick Park placed second with a time of 4:07.03. 400 medley relay team of Allan Wang, Colburn Yu, Patrick Park and Jeffrey Chan placed third with a time of 4:37.18.

 

In the 15 & over age group, Serena Deardorff ( 15) placed second in the 100 fly (1:04.98). Megan Lydzinski (16) won the 50 free (27.38). Anna Marshall (16) placed third in the 200 breast (2:44.31). Peter Deardorff (17) set a new team record in the 400 free (4:18.58), 800 free (9:06.41). and placed seventh in the 200IM, Addison Hebert set a new team record in the 1500 free (17.31.95). Dave Pennenga (18) placed eighth in the 200 breast (2:43.63).

 

In the 15 & over girl’s relays, X-Cel’s 400 Medley relay team of Emily Koyen, Anna Marshall, Serena Deardorff, and Megan Lydzinski placed fifth with a time of 4:36.90.

 

X-Cel Swimming is a USA Swimming team founded in 1995.  The program is led by Head Coach Lucy (SiPei) Le, five time Chinese National Champion and former Olympic Team Member. X-Cel provides a comprehensive youth swimming program for all levels of competitive swimming, from novice to National level athlete.
