X-Cel Swimmers compete at the Peddie Thanksgiving Classic, Nov 20-21 at
The Peddie School, Hightstown, NJ. Many X-Cel team members swam personal bests
and achieved Silver Short Course Time Standards. Top eight results follow.
In the 8 and under age group, Adam Golbin, 7, swam to a first place win in the 25 fly (21.48), second in the 100 IM (2:00.17) and finished third in the 25 free (19.17). Melody Tang, 8, placed sixth in the 25 breast (25.09). Justin Tong, 8, placed third in three events: 50 free (43.43), 25 breast (26.70) and 100 IM (1:55.07).
In the 9-10 age group, Spencer Chen, 9, placed seventh in the 50 breast (46.91 Silver). Grace Zhang, 9, swam to an eighth place finish in the 100 breast (1:47.83 Silver). Annie Huang, 10, placed sixth in the 100 breast (1:43.45 Silver) and eighth in the 50 breast (47.37). Jennie Huang, 10, finished seventh place in the 100 breast (1:45.84 Silver). Dhruv Sharma, 10, place fourth in both the 50 fly (42.69 Silver) and 200 free (2:52.36 Silver). In the 11-12 age group, David Chang, 11, placed fourth in 100 back (1:22.57) and fifth in the50 fly (36.03 Silver). Samuel Golbin, 11, swam to a seventh place finish in the 100 back (1:24.85) and placed eighth in the 200 free (2:33.30). Vanessa Lerner, 11, placed seventh in both the 50 fly (36.18) and 200 free (2:37.46). Ajay Sarathy, 11, finished seventh in the 100 breast(1:28.28 Silver). Erick Tong, 11, placed second in the 100 IM (1:14.54 Silver), fifth in both the 200 free (2:28.77 Silver) and 50 back (33.65 Silver). Tong also swam to a sixth place finish in the 50 breast (37.98 Silver) and placed seventh in the 50 fly (37.45). Alexander Yu, 11, placed eighth in the 100 back (1:25.09). Richard Deng, 12, swam to a first place win in the 100 IM (1:12.56 Silver); placed second in the 50 free (28.22 Silver) and finished third in both the 50 fly (33.03 Silver) and the 50 back (33.38 Silver). Deng also finished fifth in the 100 free(1:02.51 Silver) and sixth in the 200 IM (2:34.45 Silver). In the 13-14 age group, Christian Chiang, 13, placed second in the 100 breast (1:16.90 Silver). Frewin Hu, 13, placed fifth in the 200 IM (2:29.93 Silver), sixth in the 100 fly (1:07.57 Silver) and finished eighth in the 50 free (27.85 Silver). Heather Zhang, 13, placed eighth in the 200 breast (2:52.57 Silver). In the 15 and over age group, Charles Li, 17, placed fifth in the 50 free (25.98) and sixth in the 200 IM (2:24.10).
X-Cel Swimming is a USA Swimming team founded in 1995.
The program is led by Head Coach Lucy (SiPei) Le, five time Chinese National
Champion and former Olympic Team Member. X-Cel provides a comprehensive youth
swimming program for all levels of competitive swimming, from novice to
National level athlete. X-Cel's focused workouts with trained, qualified
coaches give each swimmer the opportunity to achieve his or her highest
potential. Each swimmer develops
physically, emotionally and mentally, schooled in the values of good sportsmanship
