X-Cel Swimmers Begin Season with Multiple New Team Records

 

Princeton, New Jersey – X-Cel Swimmers broke eight individual and one relay team records at the Fall Festival of X-Cellence Meet, November 13-14 at Princeton University.  Top eight results follow.

In the 10 and under age group, Kevin Liu, 10, placed second in the 200 IM (2:42.86), fifth in the 100 IM (1:17.14), seventh in the 50 free (30.92) and eighth in the 100 breast (1:28.60).

 
In the 11-12 age group, Madeleine Deardorff, 12, placed first in the 200 fly (2:25.89), second in the 400 IM (5:11.42), sixth in two events: 200 IM (2:27.07) and 500 free (5:46.26) and seventh in the 100 fly (1:08.30).  Emily Hung placed first in three events: 400 IM (4:58.35), 200 IM (2:19.65) and 100 back (1:04.06), second in the 200 back (2:19.45) and third in the 500 free (5:36.30). Hung set three new team records, for the 50 back in her lead-off leg of the 200 medley relay, the 100 back and the 200 back. Kara Lydzinski, 12, placed fourth in the 100 free (59.25), sixth in two events: 50 free (27.64) and 100 fly (1:07.45) and seventh in the 200 IM (2:27.54). Melinda Tang placed seventh in the 400 IM (5:21.59). 
 
In the 13-14 age group, Brian Chan, 14, placed fifth in two events: 100 breast (1:05.33) and 200 breast (2:24.84). Jeffrey Chan, 14, placed eighth in the 200 free (1:56.08). Samantha Chan, 13, placed second in the 200 breast (2:36.19), third in the 100 breast (1:12.48) and fifth in the 400 IM (4:59.67). Colburn Yu, 14, placed first in the 200 breast (2:19.44), third in the 100 breast (1:04.43), setting new team records in both events, and eighth in the 500 free (5:18.06).   
 
In the 15 and over age group, Serena Deardorff, 15, placed fifth in the 200 IM (2:15.44) and eighth (1:02.68).  Marisa Giglio, 16, placed seventh in the 200 back (2:16.43). Megan Lydzinski, 16, placed second in the 50 free (24.79) and fourth in the 200 free (1:58.63). Anna Marshall, 16, placed first in the 200 breast (2:25.70), fourth in the 200 free (1:58.63) and seventh in the 400 IM (4:56.18). Patrick Park, 15, placed third in three events: 400 IM (4:15.14), 500 free (4:48.53) and 200 fly (1:59.36), breaking team records in all three events. Park also placed fourth in the 200 free (1:47.70). 
 
The X-Cel team also did well in the relays. The 10 & under boys’ 200 free relay team (Dylan Torrance, Yash Tanga, Richard Yuan and Kevin Liu) placed eighth (2:12.00). 
 
The 11-12 girls’ 200 free relay team (Emily Hung, Kara Lydzinski, Melinda Tang and Madeleine Deardorff) placed second (1:50.95) and the 200 medley relay team (Emily Hung, Kara Lydzinski, Madeleine Deardorff and Melinda Tang) also placed second (2:02.49).
 
The boys’ 13-14 200 free relay team (Brian Chan, Jeffrey Chan, Allan Wang and Colburn Yu) placed eighth (1:41.23) and the 200 medley relay team (Jeffrey Chan, Colburn Yu, Allan Wang and Brian Chan) also placed eighth (1:54.15).
 
The senior women 200 free relay team (Ann Lee, Shawnee Gundry, Anna Marshall and Megan Lyszinski) placed seventh (1:44.67) and the 200 medley relay team (Shawnee Gundry, Anna Marshall, Serena Deardorff and Megan Lydzinski) placed second, set a new team record (1:51.81). 
 

X-Cel Swimming is a USA Swimming team dedicated to bringing out excellence in competitive swimmers. X-Cel’s swimmers range from beginners to seniors who attain Zone, Sectional and National level meets with USA Top-10 time cuts.
