X-Cel Swimming Places Fourth at Heat Madness Meet

 

Princeton, NJ-  X-Cel Swimmers demonstrate depth at Heat Madness Long Course meet held at the Rutgers University, June 4.  The women’s team placed second out of the sixteen attending teams and the men’s team finished ninth with combined team scores placing X-Cel fourth.  Many X-Cel Swimmers placed first in their individual heats and achieved several personal bests.   Congratulations to Colburn Yu for achieving Sectional Times in the 100 breast!  Top eight results follow:    

 In the 10 and under age group, Spencer Chen, 10, placed eighth in the 100 breast (1:49.21).            Allison Chou, 10 placed fourth in the 50 fly (40.24).   Alexandra Comaniciu, 10, placed fifth in the         50 back (43.45).  Ashley Own, 10, placed seventh in the 100 breast (1:44.65).  Richard Yuan, 10, placed sixth in the 50 fly (42.32). 

In the 11-12 age group, Jackie Ngu, 11, placed sixth in the 50 back (37.24) and eighth in the 200 IM (2:51.94).  Melinda Tang, 11, finished second in both the 200 free (2:23.40) and 200 IM (2:43.34).      Tang also placed third in the 50 fly (33.12).  Michael Zhong, 11, placed fifth in the 50 fly (34.56), sixth in the 200 free (2:27.21) and eighth in the 200 IM (2:53.47).  Richard Deng, 12, placed fourth in both the 200 free (2:26.94) and 200 IM (2:45.32).  Deng also finished seventh in the 100 breast (1:29.26).      Russell In, 12, placed fourth in the 50 back (37.53) and sixth in the 200 IM (2:49.35).  Kara Lydzinski, 12, placed second in the 50 fly (33.06) and fifth in the 200 IM (2:47.25). 

In the 13-14 age group, Samantha Chan, 13, placed sixth in the 200 IM (2:41.84). Madeline Deardorff, 13, placed fourth in the 200 fly (2:42.92).  Emily Hung, 13, placed seventh in the 200 IM (2:42.58) and eighth in the 400 free (5:10.96).  Allan Wang, 13, placed third in the 200 fly (2:52.27).  James Wu, 13, placed third in the 400 free (4:48.44) and eighth in the 100 free (1:03.43).  Vincent Gibbons, 14, placed third in the 200 back (2:35.23) and fifth in both the 100 free (1:01.87) and 400 free (4:50.32).             David Xin, 14, placed second in the 200 IM (2:33.71) and third in the 100 breast (1:20.47).

In the 15 & over age group, Colburn Yu, 15, achieved sectional times and placed third in the                    100 breast (1:12.18).  Serena Deardorff, 16, placed sixth in the 200 fly (2:36.15) and seventh in the 200 IM (2:36.84).  Jennifer Enos, 16, placed third in the 200 back (2:37.08) and fourth in the 400 free (4:48.27).  Marisa Giglio, 16, placed sixth in the 100 breast (1:24.81) and eighth in the 400 free (4:58.84).  Addison Hebert, 16, placed fifth in the 200 IM (2:23.71) and swam to a sixth place finish in both the     100 free (57.99) and 200 fly (2:28.03).    

 X-Cel Swimming is a USA Swimming team founded in 1995.  The program is led by Head Coach Lucy (SiPei) Le, five time Chinese National Champion and former Olympic Team Member. X-Cel provides a comprehensive youth swimming program for all levels of competitive swimming, from novice to National level athlete.
