Swimming Announces Top 8 Results at the New Jersey Swimming 13/Over
Silver/Bronze Championships
Princeton, New Jersey – X-Cel swimmers
participated in the NJ State 13&over Silver/Bronze Championships on March 12-13, 2011 at Rutgers University in Piscataway, New
Jersey. Congratulations to Addison Hebert for achieving a sensational time in the Boys'
15 and
over age
group 50 free at 22.48! Many other X-Cel swimmers
improved their records in many events earning gold and silver medals. Top eight results follow.
In the 13-14 age group, Samantha Chan, 13,
achieved a gold time in her second place finish in the 200 fly (2:27.58, Silver
Division). Chan also swam to a fifth place gold time in the 200 IM (2:21.54,
Silver Division). Madeleine Deardorff,
13, placed sixth with a gold time in the 200 IM (2:21.85, Silver
Division). Pooja Narayanan,13, placed
fourth in the 200 back (2:36.59, Bronze Division) and eighth in the 200 IM
(2:37.20, Bronze Division). Heather
Zhang,13, placed seventh in the 200 IM (2:36.87, Bronze Division). Jeffrey Chan, 14, won a first place gold time
in the 1000 free (10:52.18, Silver Division) and placed third in the 200 back
(2:16.49, Silver Division). Allan Wang, 13 swam to a second place gold time in
the 100 fly (1:00.94, Silver Division).
Alex Bank, 13, placed eighth with a gold time in the 200 breast
(2:35.59, Silver Division). David Xin,
14, placed second and acheived a gold time in 100 breast (1:09.97, Silver
Division). Xin also placed third in the
200 IM (2:14.72, Silver Division). Ethan Vaca, 13, placed seventh in the 200
free (1:59.92, Silver Division) and third in the
500 free (5:22.38, Silver Division). Gabriel Shindnes, 14, placed fifth in the 200
back (2:16.62, Silver Division). Eric Zhang, 14, swam to a first place win in
the 100 back (1:06.61, Bronze Division). Brian Li, 13, placed fourth in the 100
breast (1:19.00, Bronze Division) and sixth in the 200 IM (2:31.79, Bronze
Division). Frewin Hu,14, placed fifth in
the 200 free (2:11.34, Bronze Division).
Jason Zhang, 14, placed seventh in the 100 back (1:08.42, Bronze
Division). Christian Chiang, 13, placed
eighth in the 50 free (27.47, Bronze Division).
In the 15 and over age group, Addison Hebert,
16, won the first place with a gold time in the 50 free (22.48, Silver
Division)! Hebert also achieved second
place gold times in the 500 free (4:57.85, Silver division) and the 200 IM
(2:01.22, Silver Division). Jennifer
Enos, 16, won a first place gold time in the 1650 free (18:10.82, Silver
Division) and second in the 500 free (5:19.10, Silver Division). Marisa
Giglio,16, placed first in the 1000 free (11:16.62, Silver Division) and third
in the 500 free (5:23.27, Silver Division).
Giglio also placed fifth in the 200 IM (2:15.81, Silver Division), sixth
in both the 100 back (1:03.08, Silver Division) and the 200 back (2:15.91,
Silver Division) and seventh in the 50 free (25.84, Silver Division). Shawnee Gundry,17, placed seventh in the 500
free (5:31.98, Silver Division) and eighth in the 200 free (2:02.61, Silver
Division). Harun Filipovic, 16, swam to
a second place gold time in the 200 back (2:04.95, Silver Division), fifth in
both the 100 back (57.72, Silver Division) and 200 IM (2:08.26, Silver
Division). Filipovic also placed eighth
in the 100 fly (1:04.19, Silver Division). Brian Chan, 15, placed fourth in the
200 breast (2:25.36, Silver Division).
Charles Liu, 17, placed seventh in the 200 breast (2:31.31, Silver
Division). Kinh Hoang, 15, placed third
in both the 100 fly (1:04.19, Bronze Division) and 200 IM (2:15.23, Bronze
Division). Patrick Schultz,15, swam to a
second place finish in the 200 fly (2:22.68, Bronze Division) and placed fifth
in the 200 free (2:0023, Bronze Division).
X-Cel Swimming is a USA Swimming team founded in
1995. The program is led by Head Coach Lucy (SiPei) Le, five time Chinese
National Champion and former Olympic Team Member. X-Cel provides a
comprehensive youth swimming program for all levels of competitive swimming,
from novice to National level athlete. X-Cel's focused workouts with trained,
qualified coaches give each swimmer the opportunity to achieve his or her
