X-Cel Swimming Shows Strong performance at the Summer Solstice 

 

Princeton, NJ - X-Cel Swimming showed strong performance at the 2011 Summer Solstice Long Course Meet.  The event was held at Rutgers University on June 19.  Many swimmers achieved Gold Time Standards, swam personal best and continued to show depth of team with Top 8 finishes.

In  the 10 and under age group, Anna Cao, 10, won first place in 50 free (35.05) and finished third in both 50 breast (48.12 Gold Time) and 100 free (1:22.72). Richard Yuan, 10, won first place in 50 fly (42.83), second place in 100 back (1.32.60) and third place in 50 free (35.59 Gold).  Alexandra Comanici , 10, placed second in 50 back (43.32), third in 100 back (1:38.78) and seventh in 50 free (38.83). Morgan Linsley, 10, finished sixth in 50 breast (52.04). Crystal Tang, 10, placed fourth in both 100 breast (1:51.74) and 50 breast (50.67). Justin Tong, 9, finished sixth in 100 free (1.39.39) and 50 free (40.61).  

In 11-12 age group, Melinda Tang, 11, won first place in 200 free (2.21.59 Gold), 100 fly  (1:12.9 Gold), and 100 back (1:17.63 Gold). Kara Lydzinski, 12, won first place in both 50 free (30.50 Gold) and 50 breast (41.56 Gold).  Lydzinski also won third place in 100 back (1.20.27).  Russell In, 12, won first place in both 50 breast (41.42 Gold) and 100 back (1:16.77 Gold).        In also achieved a gold time and third placed  in 100fly (1:20.41). Jackie Ngu, 11, won first place in 50 back (36.62), second place in 50 fly (34.04 Gold) and finished fourth in 100 fly (1:24.36). David Chang, 11, won second place in 50 fly (38.17). Richard Deng, 12, won second place in both 50 back (36.64 Gold) and 100 back (1.17.65 Gold) and fourth place in 100 fly           (1:20.78 Gold).  Michael Liu, 12, won first place in 200 IM (2:51.90 Gold), second place in    100 breast (1:31.69 Gold) and seventh in 50 free (32.95). Eric Tong, 12, won first place in      100 breast (1.27.08 Gold) and achieved second place gold times in both 50 free (29.61) and    100 free (1:06.72). Eric Li, 11, won second place in 400 IM (6:04.14), finished fourth in         100 breast (1:30.23) and fifth in 200 breast (3:12.71). Kevin Liu, 11, placed fourth in 200 IM (3:07.92), fifth in 100 breast (1:41.04) and sixth in 50 fly (42.41). Ajay Sarathy, 12, placed third in both the in 100 breast (1:33.27 Gold)  and 50 breast (43.98).  Sarathy also placed fifth in 200 IM (3:08.73). Dhruv Sharma, 11, finished eighth in 100 fly (1:40.34).  Dylan Torrance finished third in 100 back (1:22.95) and fourth in 50 fly (40.53). Leslie Zhang, 12, placed third in         100 breast (1:33.44) and fifth in 200 free (2:39.17).  Michael Zhong, 11, won second place in 100 fly (1:15.10 Gold), fourth in 100 free (1:09.70) and  sixth in 50 free (32.17). Rachel Zhou, 12, won second place in 200 IM (2:54.57) and placed sixth in 50 free (33.37).  Yash Tanga, 11, finished sixth in 100 back (1:30.16). 

In the 13-14 age group, Emily Hung, 13, won first place gold times in both 200 back (2:41.7) and100 free (1:05.79).  Hung also placed second in 400 IM (5:47.72). Christian Chiang, 13, won first place in 100 breast (1:26.24), fourth in 200 breast (3.08.07) and seventh in 200IM (2:58.22).  Heather Zhang, 13, won first place in 200 breast (3:16.36), second place in 100 breast (1:32.59) and fifth place in 400 IM (6:15.32). Brian Li, 13, won second place in 400 IM (6:04.14), fourth place in 100 breast (1:30.23) and fifth place in 200 breast (3:12.71). Edison Lee, 13, finished eighth in both 200 breast (3:18.29) and 200 IM (3:13.95). Shannon Lerner, 13, placed fourth in 400 free (5:27.30). Pooja Narayanan, 13, placed sixth in 100 free (1:11.91) and seventh in both 200 back (2:58.06) and 200 IM (3:00.34). Gabriel Shindnes, 14, finished fourth in 200 back (2:49.44) and seventh in 400 free (5:20.88).  Sophia Torrance, 13, placed fourth in both 200 back (2:52.57) and 400 IM (6:04.89). Eric Zhang, 14, won second place in 100 back (1:19.44), third  in 400 IM (6.05.87), and fifth in 100 breast (1:30.31).  Jason Zhang, 14, finished fifth in 400 free (5:08.93) and sixth in both 200 free (2:25.40) and 50 free (30.08).  

In the 15 and over age group, Jeffrey Chan, 15, won second place in both 50 free (27.51), and 400 IM (5:29.78).  Chan also placed fourth in 200 free (2:15.45). John Bond, 16, finished in third place in 200 free (2:14.92), fourth in 100 back (1:13.86) and sixth in 50 free (29.65).  Jennifer Enos, 16, won second place in 100 fly (1:15.68), third in 200 free (2:23.42) and fifth in 50 free (31.07). Alex Liu, 16, finished sixth in both 100 breast (1:25.29) and 200 breast (3:15.41). Stephen Schultz, 16, won second place in 200 IM (2:35.42), fourth in 100 fly (1:13.72) and eighth in 200 free (2:19.15). Patrick Schultz, 16, finished third in both 100 back (1:12.77) and 200 IM (2:37.15).  Schultz also finished sixth in 200 free (2:17.62).  Michael Sass, 16, placed eighth in 100 breast (1:27.46). Raphael Tang, 15, placed fifth in 100 breast (1:23.97). Evan Zhang, 16, placed eighth in the 200 breast (3:20.85).
