X-Cel Swimming Opens Long Course Season with Tiger Challenge Meet

 

Princeton, New Jersey – X-Cel Swimming is pleased to announce results for swimmers who finished among the top 8 in their events at the recently held Tiger Challenge Meet, May 14-15 at Princeton University’s DeNunzio Pool.

In the 10 and under age group, Jonathan Yue, 9, placed seventh in the 200 IM (3:50.25). Richard Yuan, 10, placed fourth in the 100 free (1:20.26) and fifth in both the 200 IM (3:23.68) and       50 fly (41.65).  Spencer Chen, 10, placed fifth in the 50 breast (51.43).  Anna Cao, 10, placed second in the 50 breast (46.39) and fifth in the 100 free (1:23.45).  Allison Chou, 10, placed third in the 200 IM (3:21.84), sixth in the 50 breast (49.11) and eighth in the 100 Free (1:26.21). Morgan Linsley, 10, swam to an eighth finish in the 200 IM (3:37.29). Ashley Own, 10, placed eighth in the 50 breast (49.95).

In the 11-12 age group, Russell In, 12, placed second in the 100 back (1:19.86). Michael Zhong, 11, placed fourth in the 50 fly (35.52) and 800 free (10:44.44).  Zhong also placed eighth in the 200 IM (2:55.39).  Eric Tong, 12, placed third in both the 50 breast (39.95) and 100 free (1:06.83). Tong also placed sixth in the 200 IM (2:53.82). Richard Deng, 12, placed fourth in both the 200 IM (2:49.30) and 100 free (1:06.83).  Ajay Sarathy, 12, placed eighth in the 50 breast (43.53).  Melinda Tang, 11, did exceptionally well, finishing first in three events:  200 IM (2:43.81), 100 free (1:05.81) and 800 free (10:23.86).  Kara Lydzinski, 12, placed third in 200 IM (2:50.48) and 50 fly (34.23).  Lydzinski also placed fifth in the 100 free (1:08.97). Jackie Ngu, 11, placed first in the 100 back (1:17.44) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:51.68). Leslie Zhang, 12, placed sixth in the 50 breast (43.67). Rachel Zhou, 12, placed third in the 800 free (10:47.74) and eighth in both the 50 fly (36.52) and 100 free (1:10.80).

In the 13-14 age group, Brian Li, 13, placed third in the 200 fly (3:10.09).  David Xin, 14, placed third in the 200 IM (2:35.24). Allan Wang, 13, placed fourth in the 200 IM (2:35.69). Ethan Vaca, 14, placed seventh in three events:  800 free (11:10.87), 100 Free (1:03.11) and 200 IM (2:39.52).  Madeleine Deardorff, 13, placed second in the 200 fly (2:40.35). Samantha Chan, 13 placed fourth in the 200 IM (2:39.77). Emily Hung, 13, placed third in the 200 IM (2:39.37), fifth in the 100 back (1:16.01) and sixth in the 800 free (10:42.21).

In the 15 and over age group, Addison Hebert, 16, placed fifth in the 100 free (58.05) and seventh in the 800 free (9:39.97).  Serena Deardorff, 16, placed second in the 200 fly (2:31.82), third in the 200 IM (2:36.53) and fourth in the 50 free (29.63). Jennifer Enos, 16, placed first in the 800 free (9:45.56) and eighth in the 200 IM (1:05.02). Marisa Giglio, 16, placed eighth in the  800 free (10:13.58) and 200 IM (2:40.19). Shawnee Gundry, 17, placed third in the 100 back (1:12.40) and 100 free (1:02.85).  

X-Cel Swimming is a USA Swimming team founded in 1995.  The program is led by Head Coach Lucy (SiPei) Le, five time Chinese National Champion and former Olympic Team Member. X-Cel provides a comprehensive youth swimming program for all levels of competitive swimming, from novice to National level athlete.
